FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
It’s our pleasure to welcome Robert K. Elder as President and Publisher of Blockchain News.
Blockchain News is building an independent, must-read daily resource for information and commentary about blockchain technology, crypto assets and digital currency platforms such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
Elder has an established track record in innovation and digital media, having served as the Executive Director of Digital Product Development & Innovation for Crain Communications and Vice President of Content for Sun-Times Media Local. He has also served as a mentor at TechStars, 1871 Chicago and Northwestern University’s The Garage.
Elder will bring that energy and expertise to Blockchain News and build a staff with correspondents in London, New York, Singapore and other blockchain technology hotbeds. He will also establish an office in Chicago.
“I’m excited to build on Blockchain News’ reputation as an industry leader and help grow the company internationally,” Elder said. “Blockchain technology is reshaping the worlds of commerce, banking and real estate—and it’s exhilarating to be on the cutting edge of those changes.”
Blockchain News was founded in 2015 by journalist and entrepreneur Richard Kastelein. In 2017, Blockchain News announced its acquisition by Token Report, a financial data company. As Elder joins the team, Kastelein continues in his role as Editor Emeritus and as a close adviser to the company.
“Rob is a proven leader and innovator who brings some formidable experience to Blockchain News,” said Kastelein. “We’re thrilled to have someone with Rob’s passion and vision at the helm.”
Previously, Elder has held editorial and leadership positions at the AOL Huffington Post Media Group’s Patch.com, DNAinfo Chicago and Sun-Times Media Local. For almost a decade, Elder served as a staff writer at the Chicago Tribune. His work has also appeared in The New York Times, The Paris Review, MSNBC.com, The Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, Salon.com and many other publications. Elder is also a graduate of the University of Oregon and the award-winning author of eight books.
Blockchain News focuses on the most urgent blockchain industry developments of the day, delivering everything from granular tech pieces to expansive culture profiles that are important to industry leaders, investors and data analysts.
