Read more about our values and culture here. This role is for the Senior Director of Financial Institutions Compliance. The role is based in SF or NY and is one of three  direct reports to the CCO. The role will be responsible for overseeing compliance programs regulated by DFS, SEC/FINRA and the CFTC. This role is responsible for managing our Bank Partner and Financial Institutions Relationship team. This role will include interfacing with regulators that oversee these lines of business. What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties): Designing and implementing compliance programs for activities and products regulated by FINRA, the SEC, the CFTC, the New York Department of Financial Services, and other regulatory agencies, and leading Coinbase’s response and remediation efforts with respect to examinations conducted and findings issued by such agencies. Overseeing the compliance team for Coinbase Securities (a BD)  and Coinbase Capital Markets (a BD/ATS), and, together with senior members of the Finance and Legal teams, leading the company’s efforts with FINRA to secure additional BD/ATS authorities through a CMA process. Leading compliance group’s work in support of new charter/license applications domestically, and collaborating with the Head of International Compliance on new charter/license applications globally. Representing Coinbase before domestic and international gatherings of financial regulators.   Oversee our Bank Partner Relationship team. This team coordinates efforts for Compliance inquiries and meetings with existing bank partner relationships and cultivates new relationships.  Will oversee our Trade Surveillance team, which monitors for market manipulation, employee trading, market health and asset launch for trading etc. Will oversee our Trust Company Compliance efforts, manage the CCO for Trust Co,  prepare relevant board materials for monthly Trust Co board meetings  Cross functional collaboration with the other Sr. Compliance and Legal roles on emerging regulations.
